2015 Conference

Career Growth Studio

For mid-career professionals

CGSCreate a masterpiece of your career. Attend NEMA’s Career Growth Studio, an overnight experience of inspiration, skill building, and self-awareness immediately following the conference in Portland. This year’s CGS focuses exclusively on mid-career museum professionals seeking guidance and motivation as they prepare their next steps toward upper-level museum leadership.

This year's Studio is designed for you if you have:

  • 5-20 years' experience in the museum field
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial position

This year's Studio is designed for you if you need:

  • To strategize next steps for your career
  • To better balance your life in and out of the workplace
  • To brush up your personal brand and administrative skills

On Friday, November 6, we'll start with a reception and dinner discussion. Then get ready for a full day on November 7, when we'll discuss the keys to leadership, personal branding, financial and management strategies, lifestyle management, how to gain career momentum, and creating a career plan. The Career Growth Studio will continue throughout 2015/16 with quarterly web conversations to check in and see how you're doing, plus a reunion at the 2016 NEMA conference.

Cost to participate is just $250 for NEMA members and $300 for non-members; includes participation fee, materials, meals, web conversations throughout the year, and a reunion at the 2016 NEMA conference. The Holiday Inn by the Bay will honor its special conference rate for your Friday night stay.

Space is limited. Register by October 28.
