10 am - 3 pm
Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, Hartford CT
Presented by the Education PAG
This workshop is full.

How can we as museum educators create dialogue-based programming that is meaningful, collaborative, and beneficial for both our institutions and our community? How can we shift from being ‘neutral’ to being active facilitators of conversations on topics that are relevant, perhaps even controversial, to our communities and world?

This day-long workshop will provide strategies for facilitating and managing conversations on difficult topics in your museum. The program will feature insight from diversity educators, role playing of potential scenarios, exploration of social justice topics, and discussion of the risks and rewards of community conversations. Participants will leave inspired to tackle this type of programming and with practical steps for hosting and facilitating conversations at their own institutions.

The workshop is limited to 30 participants.
